September 2008 News

  • I enjoyed a terrific reading by the participants from Write Around Portland’s summer 2008 workshops. Check out the new anthology, And We Flew. I facilitated this past summer at CVAB in Vancouver.
  • The Oregon State Poetry Association holds their fall conference this year in Roseburg, Oregon. Details of the conference appear in the current newsletter (in your mailboxes early this month), and on the web site.
  • Coming up this fall, I’ll be reading as part of the Q Literati Series in November.

With just a few days left until the big day, I’ve finally entered the eye of the HOWP (hurricane of wedding planning). Poems have been emerging in the wee hours of the morning when I’m up, unable to sleep, talking to the cat to calm myself. The weather here has started to smell like fall, the mornings are cool, and the world is turning — ending one season, beginning another. Me, too.
