Wow, what a year!!
The Wisdom’s Feast: A Women’s Spirituality Conference was an amazing success! Over 60 women of all ages gathered together. I really enjoyed leading my first workshop on Sophia, Lady Wisdom in the Hebrew scriptures. Photos here.
Schoolwork has been keeping me busy. This semester we are focusing on the ritual and liturgy of various traditions, and my papers were on Judaism and Hinduism. Our student presentations were a lot of work and a ton of fun. I also got to write and lead an Advent/Solstice ritual for the entire group (all cohorts) and that was a truly rich experience.
Speaking of Advent, wow are the days ever short and the nights ever long. Sadie has a fantastic new job and we are adjusting to her new schedule. She is up before I am even thinking about waking up, and papers keep me up burning the midnight oil. Here’s to hope that my writing life will thrive in those in-between-hours.
And speaking of writing…Gertrude Press is reading submissions now for our next chapbook contest. We should be sending out an e-newsletter with exciting news about changes in the leadership of the press, so stay tuned!
With many wishes for light and joy in the New Year,
Elizabeth
