April 2008 News

Happy National Poetry Month!

I started the month off right with my first Writer-in-Residence weekend at Oregon Writers Colony with a fun bunch of writerly revelers led by Sage Cohen.

Gertrude Press is currently reviewing the excellent chapbook entries submitted for our 2008 contest. Winners will be announced next month!

The Oregon State Poetry Association holds its Spring Conference in Salem on April 25-26. You won’t want to miss the gala opening of the new Oregon State Poetry Collection. Details at: http://www.oregonpoets.org.

I’ll be reading with the other winners of the Salem Chapter of Willamette Writers’ Poetry Contest on April 25 in Keizer.

Finally, I’ll finish off this month of poetry with a reading in Stayton on April 30. I’ll be joined by some of the other authors whose work has been featured by the Stayton Second Sunday Series organized by Eleanor Berry.

Best wishes for a wonderful month of poetry celebrations!
